Only in dreams.

Catchy title? It's also that of my final film for production 1. Last night at about 10 oclock I got a swift kick in the ass that my whole preproduction package was due today. That information was incorrect, it was only the treatment, but never the less I banged out a great story. What is it? You'll have to keep checking back for that. In other news last night I attended a production meeting for a senior practium film I'm involved in called "The first immortal". Not too clear on the story details, but its not immortal in the sense of what you'd think. Apparently, this guy doesn't suffer from cellular degredation. IE he doesn't get old. At the end of the movie he gets killed in a car accident which I'm staging.

In other news (ironically paying tribute to the title), I had a dream last night about a red haired woman. I'm not going to get into details, because most of you probably knew who it was, needless to say you know you were truly in love with someone when you still feel something for them after such a long time.

I'll be on a shoot tomorrow in Indiana, not too clear on those details either although I do know the movie takes place in the future after a nuclear holocaust, so I'm pretty excited. I'll probably be leaving an audio post from on location, so keep checking back.

Hangin with Mr. Neo

To sum up my night in four words: Wow. That was AWESOME. If you hadn't already heard the news, I spent all of tonight (er well last night) on the set of the new movie Il Mare, starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The movie is a romance drama about two people living in the same apartment two years apart from each other and being able to communicate (and fall in love) through their mailbox. The goto the same locations and do the same stuff, but in different time periods. The set I was on was the fourth of July at Navy Pier. What they did for the most part was had three groups: The Sandra group (which would shoot close to her when it was 2 years future), the Keanu group (which would shoot close to her when it was 2 years past) and the cattle, which would pretty much be the filler people in the back both times. I unfortunately (at first) was grouped into the cattle. It's all good though, because when the both of them entered Navy pier they started on a huge long shot tracking them down a flight of stairs which I was on. I was bumped by them several times lol. Obviously, when you have over 500 extras on set it's very difficult to keep track of all of them, so I eventually made my way into both the S group and the K group. For literally minutes at a time I'd be just kinda ackwardly standing next to either Keanu, Sandra, or the both of them. It was great.

I definitely wasn't star struck but any of it, but seeing the two of them did put a smile on my face though. It was really cool being able to see someone in person who is plastered all over the media all the time. Especially when they talk to you, and you see how normal they really are.

The road to glory

Well, not too much news today, although it's important. Everything pretty much got cemented in for me going to the National Fight Director's Workshop this summer. Not only that, I'll also be attending the Action Movie workshop afterwards. The AM workshop pretty much teaches directors and DPs the little specifics of making an action movie, and even goes as far as to talk about budgeting, shot direction, and stuff like that. So as you can imagine, I'm pretty excited.

Rah Rah Rape

Yes I know, catchy aint it? Rah Rah Rape is one of the joke titles we came up with for my second 16mm film after everyone found out I never gave it a name. We wrapped on the first night of shooting 20 minutes ago, and considering the circumstances I think it all went well. We started shooting around 9:40. The story is a short and simple one: a man coming home from school is troubled when he hears a girl screaming from an apartment down the hall, and eventually can't take it anymore so he goes in and stops the "bad guys" from hurting her. Pretty much just an excuse to fight. I'd like to have a few good fights on film though, so I don't mind crappy story.

Shopping Spree...

Over the weekend Jared's parents came in town to visit, and they gave him a bit of a gift too...the money to buy a new guitar! So today we milled around the north side, perusing through all sorts of stores. We ended up at Guitar Center, where Jared got it. I ended up getting a harmonica! hahaha it's the funniest thing. It was only five bucks so I figured what the hell, right? I've spent most of tonight honing my incredible music skills...and what have I got to show for it? I can play pop eye! haha. In other awesome news, Crystal will be coming to visit in a few weeks, so I'm excited.

Villian Training

Last night marked the first night in new training for the Jason Walsh Stunt Team: Acrobatics. I'm already familiar with the simple things like front handsprings, cartwheels, round offs, and so on but Alex and I began to lay the ground work for the good stuff: Flips. After several horrible, horrible falls I managed to land on my feet and even start to get it. I pretty much got it today though after being able to work things out for myself on Hailey's trampoline. I spent the day at her house, booked it back to chicago and made it back out to Lockport in time for the first meeting of the movie "Brave New World" that I'm going to be in. It's not exactly a movie, rather a pilot trailer that will be pitched to several production companies in order to try to pick it up as one. I'll be playing the head villian, Eric (I forget his super villian name). In other news, I guess I was mentioned in Kung Fu Cinema. It's a website that talks about? You guessed it, Kung fu and martial art movies. The article I was mentioned in I had originally signed on to be the fight choreographer for, but that was over a year ago so I'm not sure I'm still apart of it. I'll keep everybody updated on that though as time goes on.

The Keys Project: Part II

So, it's been a good three weeks now since I proposed and began the keys project, I figured you would all want to know how it's going. I'm knee deep into Japanese right now, and as far as I can tell it's going great I'm able to understand and identify much more in Japanese now then I ever could. I think one of hte biggest reasons why is not so much that I'm doing new lessons every day, but because I'm spending an hour a day thinking in a different language. I got bored today so I started Italian haha. If you've been thinking about learning a new language, but don't really know how to get started talk to me and I'll let you borrow some of my shit.

Spring Break Wrap up

I know I Know! I'm such an asshole. I keep forgetting to update this damn thing. Alright, well here's the latest. I'll break down spring break for you. As many of you know, my current employer (the knights) took care of my plane ticket home, so I was pretty much their bitch for the vacation. I babysitted the kids every day except for thursday and saturday. On those days I chilled with Jared and we did crazy stuff. This vacation was really cool too because I was able to do a lot of stuff with BOTH of my parents, like bowling and going out for lunch. There's still a glimmer of hope that they'll get back together, and I'm pushing hard to make it come true. Saturday night was a kickass last night. Me, Jared and Jillian headed up to the mall to DDR it up hahha, then Kristen took us to Sin City. If you haven't seen Sin City yet, then crawl out from that rock you are hiding under and get your ass back to civilization. Both flights there and back where great, and on the day I came home I got to spend the afternoon wtih Hailey.
